What Are The Benefits Of Lip Blush?
- Lips appear more defined without fillers
- Restores the color of the lips that have become pale.
- Defines blurred and invisible lip lines.
- Saves time on applying daily lip color.
- Creates smudge-proof, long-lasting lip color.
- Camouflages scars and hyperpigmentation.
- Increases lip fullness.
What Is The “Lip Blush” Process?
The lip blush process consists of two appointments (sometimes three if a lip neutralization is required). Each appointment builds layers of pigment onto the lips to give you a natural semi-permanent lip color.
What Is The Pre-Care Of Lip Blush?
Any kind of lip tattoo can trigger an outbreak of cold sores.
Lip clients with a history of cold sores must take an anti-viral medication for a total of 6 days (3 days prior to procedure and 3 days post-procedure). Examples of antiviral medications: Zovirax or Valtrex.
You will need to contact your physician in order to obtain your prescription. This can usually be done over the phone and will not require an office visit.
Exfoliate lips the night before the procedure with any lip scrub or you can make your own with coconut oil + sugar and apply Lip Balm after. Removing dead, dry skin allows for an easier tattoo process and better retention. If you have not had a history of cold sores, you can still support your immune system and healing by taking L-lysine supplements.

My Lips Are Dark, Am I Still A Candidate?
Yes! Dark lips can receive lip blush with a neutralization service. Neutralization is the process of warming up the cooler tones in dark lips. Once this is complete, a target color can be used. Many clients opt to only receive the neutralization process since this gives a very subtle peachy tone brightening effect that looks very pretty. It is important for all lip blush clients to set realistic expectations and trust that the artist will only aim for a end result that is natural and suits your overall lip and skin tone.
What Color Choices For Lip Blush?
We will discuss before the Lip Blush procedure which colors suit you the best (based on your natural lip color and other preferences). In our studio, we have a large variety of colors from peach, pinky-nude, soft rose, berry, mauve, and red colors for a brighter look.
Will I Still Be Able To Wear Different Lip Makeup Over My Lip Blush Tattoo?
Lip Blush is versatile. Once your lips have healed, you may still change the color of your lips at any time with conventional makeup. Your new lip tattoo is designed to act as a base and you still can use your favorite lipsticks or just a little bit of gloss to add a shiny effect.
Does The Lip Blush Procedure Hurt?
We use a highly effective and safe topical anesthetic cream to ensure you remain comfortable and as pain-free as possible. Most of my clients say during the Lip Blush procedure they don’t feel anything at all.
How Long Does Lip Blush Last?
Lip Blush will last 2 years before requiring a color refresh. Color retention will depend on a number of factors, such as lifestyle, skin type, sun exposure, health condition, etc.
How Will My Lips Look Immediately After The Lip Blush Procedure?
Your lips will look swollen and slightly larger than normal (like lip fillers). The pigment and lip color will look darker (brighter) initially, like lipstick. The size of your lips will get back to normal approximately in 2-4 hours after the procedure and the color will fade up to 50% within the first 4-6 days. Right after the procedure lips normally feel dry and tender to the touch. You will have to apply moisturizing balms such as arnica oil, coconut oil, hustle butter, or lip balm.
How Long Is The Healing Process?
The visible healing process takes about 4-6 days. The lips will initially look bright, then dark, as the scabs fall off lips will look lighter. Trust the process and keep your lips moisturized during these healing days.
What Is The Aftercare For Lip Blush?
Use the ointment in the aftercare kit that is provided to you to moisturize lips several times during the day.
